Designing aspects of shows that I also direct has pluses and minuses: on the one hand it streamlines the process, gets me exactly
what I think I want, and allows me to put more of the show budget on the stage; contrarily, it reduces the number of brains involved (diminishing the incredibly valuable collaboration process) and the time that I can spend "wearing either hat." Without question, though,
it simplifies finding time to meet.
